Gallery view from inside Wave Hill’s Sunroom looking towards the ramp and gallery entrance. Along the windows and ramp are a series of wood, stained-glass, and steel stands that hold bodily ceramic forms. In the air suspended between the ramp and the gallery floor hangs a wood tapestry. The tapestry mimics the outline cells and is composed of clusters of semi-circular pieces of wood creating a lace-like structure.
Gallery view from just inside the Sunroom at the top of the ramp looking into the gallery. The view is slightly obscured by the wood tapestry that hangs from the ceiling between the ramp and gallery floor. The tapestry is based off of cellular growth and oddly if this design were turned upside down it would slightly mimic the ornate arched windows throughout the gallery. Along the ramp and walls of the gallery sit wood, steel, and stained glass stands holding small ceramic votive forms. Each votive form acts as an ode to the Etruscan healing ritual, though unlike this ancient practice my abstract forms act as an ode to transformation and all the complex organelles involved in cellular repair.
View from inside the Sunroom looking towards the wall with two arched windows with green gardens outside. Between the two windows is a peachy pink ceramic work that mimics a nerve cell hanging on the wall 6’ above the floor. In front of each window sits a series of 3 wood, stained-glass, and steel stands that hold bodily ceramic forms. Along the window sill sits more ceramic forms, tinctured plant material, and two small altar forms that mimic the arched window structure.
Three stands sit in front of an window with a garden behind. The stands’ wood bases create a truncated, root-like structure that weaves along the ground. At each end of the truncated base either mirror has been adhered or the base opens up into a small cave-like structure. In between these stand on the floor lay piles of medicinal herbs from historical Anglo-European healing practices such as mullein, licorice, lemon balm, and chamomile. On the window sill behind, sits one window-like altars that is reminiscent of the grotto garden statues, colorful tinctured plant materials, and pink and red undulating ceramic organelle forms.
An image of the stands that sit in the gallery in front of the arched window. The entire arched window is in view. The wood bases of the stands together create a truncated, root-like structure. In between the mirrored end sections of the stands’ wood bases sit a pile of glass tincture bottles. The two parallel mirrors create an illusion that the tincture bottles multiply. Similarly to the first window sill, one window-like altars that is reminiscent of the grotto garden statues, colorful tinctured plant materials, and pink and red undulating ceramic organelle forms.
Two stands, one with red and the other with green stained-glass tops, hold pink and green ceramic votive forms above a terra cotta brick floor. On the windowsill in the background sits a miniature white window-like altar with tinctured plant material housed inside. Outside the window sits a wild, bright green garden.

Along the gallery side of the ramp sits a series of three stands made from wood, green and yellow stained-glass, and steel stands. Each stand hold pink and white bodily ceramic forms. The wood bases of these stands creates a root-like form that protrudes from the brick floor. At each end of the truncated base either mirror has been adhered or the base opens up into a small cave-like structure. In between these stand on the floor lay ceramic vines and piles of medicinal herbs such as mullein, licorice, lemon balm, and chamomile
Detail image of the wood tapestry that is suspended from the ceiling between the ramp and the gallery floor. The tapestry mimics the outline reproducing cells and is composed of clusters of semi-circular pieces of wood creating a lace-like structure. Behind the tapestry is a two windows and a small wall between with an iPad adhered. The iPad features the artist’s Are.na
A gallery view of the back wall where a wood table sits in front a blank gallery wall holding three window-like altar forms, ceramic and plant materials. On the back wall an intricate shadow is cast in the distorted shape of the wood tapestry. Perpendicular to the table is a closed glass archway door and two stained glass stands with ceramic votive forms.
A small ceramic form hangs on a wall near the corner near a ceiling. On the wall adjacent a windowed archway is slightly visible that the design of the ceramic form mimics. Though unlike the architectural archway, the ceramic form is upside down.
On top of a wood table sits two window-like altar forms reminiscent of the grotto garden statues. Inside the altar forms are tinctured plant material and dried herbs. On the table beside the altar sits pink ceramic votive forms, dried plant materials, two brown bottles of tinctured plant materials, and circular microscopic photographs of roots, branches, and leaves.
Two stands, one with red and the other with purple stained-glass tops, hold pink, purple, and green ceramic votive forms above a terra cotta brick floor. The wood base of these stands creates an undulating root pattern that starts and stops. In between the wood base ends are piles of dried herbs and ceramic plants and leaves.
On a white windowsill sits a green and pink ceramic leaf on top of a circular microscopic photograph of a leaf. The photograph has been encased in glass with silver solder over the dripping on the circles edges.
