This mycelial-like fountain gradually transforms as it’s installed, absorbing and filtering out pigmented fluid, leaving salt deposits and color stains on its protrusions. Thinking about connections between technological adaptation, eroticism, and interspecies kinship, I wanted to make visible a being that reacts to its aqueous environment.
