Morph/Sequence

This interactive installation acts as a data collection site. On the workbench sits blue bone-like forms and a white surface to create configurations of these forms. Above the bench a camera is installed allowing the viewer to document their work. Limiting parameters such as camera angle and bonelike pieces, this bench was used to compile visuals for new moving image work during the course of its’ install. The moving image projected to the side mirrors the view of the workbench and features configurations of forms that slowly morph into new configurations. The speed and contrast of background in the video creates a momentary afterimage of the previous.

Morph/Sequence: 2022, Steel, wood, cement, porcelain, cobalt carbonate, camera, shutter release, Workbench size: 64"×32"×17" Projection size: variable.
