This in-progress series of work “Kinesthesia” examines disembodiment and spatial relations. Drawing from my experience of gender dysphoria and body dysmorphia as a genderqueer person, as well as my loss of proprioception experienced after a severe accident, I attempt to resolve this mind/body disconnection through conjoining colorful wood shapes into disjointed, intentionally awkward forms. Each piece mimics bodily spatial relations; individually these works act as personal vignettes.
